West Coast Demerara : Ramanand Latchman, 35, a labourer of HP26 Timehri, East Bank Demerara, was yesterday arrested and charged with Possession of Narcotics for the Purpose of Trafficking, five hundred and fifty grams of cannabis.
About 2p.m. the suspect was whilst walking on the Vreed-en-Hoop Public Road, West Coast Demerara, with a haversack on his back, upon seeing a uniform policeman, began to act in a suspicious manner which prompted the police to conduct a search and the illegal substance was found in the haversack.
He will appear before Her Worship Rochelle Liverpool at the Leonora Magistrate’s Court to answer to the charge.
