Georgetown: A United Arab Emirates (UAE) delegation headed by Sheikh Ahmed Dalmook Al Maktoum are in Guyana after the delegation arrived in Guyana on Thursday.
The group will be meeting with President Irfaan Ali and Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials
The UAE Sheikh’s visit is possibly to discuss Guyana’s oil and gas sector and collaborative investment efforts here, as he oversees responsibility for the energy sector in his country.
The Sheikh is the founder of the diversified conglomerate, Africa, Middle East Resource Investment (AMERI Group).
Some of the areas that will be discussed includes infrastructural development, government’s financing plans, and the energy sector among others.
The Guyana Police Force also announced that the following roads will be closed from Thursday, November 19 to Saturday, November 21, 2020 to facilitate a state visit by his Highness Sheika Ahmad Dalmook Juma Al Maktoum of the United Arab Emirates and an eight member delegation.
“Regent Street and Shiv Chanderpaul Drive – No Entry. South Road and Oronoque Street – No Entry East. Bridge from Croal Street to South Road – No Entry. Vlissengen Road and South Road – No Entry North. Oronoque and Charlotte Streets – No Entry East. Parade and Young Streets – No Entry West. High and Young streets – No Entry East. Duke and Barrack streets – No Entry North,” the Guyana Police Force stated while apologizing for any inconvenience caused.
