Georgetown: Trakkernews is investigating a number of incidents involving people flying in from overseas who have been attacked and robbed either on the way home or when they arrive at their destinations. These attacks often occur during the late evening or early morning flights to Cheddi Jagan International airport. Only a week ago, the latest victim(name given) from the East Coast of Demerara came on an early morning flight and on his way home the taxi he was in was forced off the road by another vehicle. It was then when two men on motorcycle proceeded to rob him. He said they took away 3 bottles of greygoose and some US dollars, but not much. The men operated swiftly he explained and rushed off. About 2 weeks ago another family was robbed at about 4 in the morning on the West Coast after they arrived home from the airport. Trakkernews was told that to their astonishment the men were lingering around the front gate and as soon as the vehicle stopped they attacked. The victims are of the strong opinion that these men have accomplices working at the airport who are privy to passengers information when they land. They say that these men are not magicians to know when people are coming in from abroad.
