San Fernando: The Trade Union Movement is keeping good to its word to resume industrial action at the end of the State of Emergency.
The Oilfields Workers' Trade Union says it will be staging a mass protest demonstration at the Petrotrin oil refinery tomorrow morning.
A statement issued by the union says it had always alerted the national community that as soon as the State of Emergency is lifted workers will continue the struggle.
The movement says after the 106 day State of Emergency during which time it was unlawful to hold any public meetings or stage any public protests, it has emerged stronger and still united.
It says the demonstration will be staged at the Pointe-a-Pierre refinery and will include workers from all over Petrotrin, including the refinery, and Trinmar operations.
The movement says other protest demonstrations will be taking place at other workplaces where OWTU is represented.
