Georgetown: Tularam Harrylall, 18, a labourer of Lot 855 Bath, West Coast Berbice was crushed to death by a reversing lorry in the compound of Hack Rice Mill, Golden Grove, West Coast Berbice on Monday.
Police identified the motor lorry as GRR 7060 with trailer TWW 1259 driven by Asad Baksh called Blackboy, 24, of Lot 15 Section ‘A’ D’Edward’s Village West Coast Berbice
According to Police Headquarters, Asad Baksh related that while reversing the motor lorry with a container into the boiler area for the container to be loaded with bulk rice, he was alerted by a labourer to stop.
He immediately did and exited the lorry and went to the back of the vehicle where he saw Harrylall lying on the ground motionless.
The body was picked up and taken to Fort Wellington Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead by a doctor on duty. The remains are currently lying at Anthony’s Funeral Home awaiting post mortem as investigation continue.
