Georgetown :Several students were seen at an entertainment spot fully dressed in their school uniforms and made orders for alcoholic beverages last night. 
Trakkernews also captured l school children in the Botanical Gardens during school hours, not in the company of teachers but were strolling in the dismal gardens. In another section of the city a schoolboy was found sitting on the control panel of a traffic light. The scenes around the place today of school children are astonishing.
Only a few days ago school children from Georgetown and West Coast Demerara broke out in a gang war where 19 students were detained by the police.
When the Education Ministry was contacted for a comment on these matters, Mrs. Auther, the head of the school’s welfare department said a vibrant campaign is on and her officers are out to deal with such matters especially children found on the road during school hours. She also pleaded that her work depends on public reports and said the Ministry of Education has been striving to have more children in the school system.
