An 18-wheeler truck owned by Se-sash Logistics and carrying pipe belong to the Barbados Water Authority (BWA) flipped on it side at the entrance of the University of West Indies Cave Hill Campus this morning.
According to the driver of the truck, Hance Brewster, it was a mechanical failure, which eventually caused the heavy cargo to topple the trailer over
Procurement Specialist at the BWA Project Execution Unit, Gregory Gaskin told Trakker News that the collapsed pipes which were on the truck make up just one container of a total of ninety-five.
He says the BWA borrowed 50 million US dollars from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) to purchase the pipes which will be used to replace water mains around the island.
