Port-of-Spain: The Ministry of Works and Transport will next week sign an agreement with Venezuelan officials to begin a ferry service from Port-of-Spain to Venezuela.
Works and Transport Minister Jack Warner has repeatedly said that the govenment wanted to utilised some of its water taxis that operate from north to south Trinidad, on a ferry service to the Latin American nation, hoping to open a tourist route via ferry.
The ferry route will run between Port-of-Spain from the eastern ports of Carupano or Guiria.
Venezuelan officials believe Venezuelan tourists will benefit more from the service since they will land in the Trinidad and Tobago's capital, Port-of -Spain whereas those leaving Port-of-Spain will arrive in the rural towns and would need to take a flight to other more populous destination across Venezuela.
