TT’s corruption ratings plunge to lowest in history

Port-of-Spain: The perception of corruption in Trinidad and Tobago is now at its highest point ever.

The latest international corruption index has indicated that Trinidad and Tobago has dropped 18 points and is now ranked 91 out of 183 countries with a score of 3.2.

In 2010  this country was ranked at  73 out of 178 countries with a CPI score of 3.6.

According to President of the Trinidad and Tobago Transparency Institute Richard Joseph this means the country's perception of corruption has in fact increased.

Joseph believes that factors within the current administration have added to questions about its committment to transparency and accountabilty.
