East Bank Demerara : Raphael Bagot of Kuru Kuru, Soesdyke/Linden Highway, was in his motor vehicle which was parked at Garden of Eden, EBD, when he was held up by a man armed with a firearm. The man took away $1.5M from the vehicle and escaped in a waiting motor car.
A relative of Raphael Bagot came up shortly after and they gave chase behind the getaway vehicle PLL 7395 and caught up with it at Second Street, Craig, EBD. They managed to apprehend the suspect while three other men who were in the vehicle escaped.
The suspect was handed over to the police who also detained the motor car used by the perpetrators.
Later a man reported to the police at Golden Grove Police Station and said that he had been attacked and robbed of the vehicle earlier. He has been arrested and along with the suspect is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
