East Coast Demerara :The police are investigating a fatal accident that occurred at 10:00 am today at Airy Hall Public Road, Mahaicony, East Coast Demerara.
The police says motor pick-up GKK 3893 was being driven along the roadway by Asif Hakh, 33 years of Turkeyen, ECD, when he allegedly lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a turn and crashed into a utility pole.
The driver and all ten passengers in the vehicle received injuries and were taken to the Mahaicony Hospital where Colin Williams of Sandy Babb Street, Kitty; and Raheem Xavier of Calendar Street, Albouystown, were pronounced dead.
The other nine persons were referred to the Georgetown Hospital where Raymond Azeez, 45 years of Campbellville, Georgetown, was treated and sent away while the others were admitted for medical treatment.
