Mahaicony : The police this morning launched an investigation into a fatal accident that occurred last evening on the Railway Embankment at Farm, Mahaicony, East Coast Demerara, and which resulted in the death of Nandram Rooplall, 28 years of Enmore, ECD; and 24 year old Tajram Haimnauth, of Little Baiboo, Mahaica Creek.
A police report stated, Nandram Rooplall was driving motor pick-up GKK 436 with occupants Tajram Haimnauth and Pooran Haimnauth when the vehicle collided with motor lorry GNN 8429.
As a result the three persons in the pick-up received injuries. Nandram Rooplall and Tajram Haimnauth succumbed to their injuries while Pooran Haimnauth has been admitted to the Hospital.
The driver of the motor lorry is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
