Two men were struck by a car during the Barbados Rally Club's Shakedown Stages Rally in St John yesterday afternoon.
They were injured when a Peugeot 306 GT16 driven by Darnley Rayside and Sean Fields went off route on Stage 10 of the rally between Society and Pool.
Veteran sports journalist Trevor Thorpe received severe head injuries and was set to undergo surgery at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital last night.
Island Constable was also injured but his condition is unknown.
