Two men charged with robbing senator

Bridgetown.

Jermaine Worrell, 20, of Cave Hill and Renico Taylor, 19, of Eden Lodge, St Michael were arrested and charged over the weekend with robbing Senator Irene Sandiford-Garner on October 12.

The offence  occurred in the Super Centre Warrens supermarket car park.  Sandiford-Garner the Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Health, was stabbed in her right hand, after fighting off a masked knife wielding attacker.

She was sitting in her parked vehicle talking on her Black Berry which was stolen. Taylor is facing a separate charge of theft of another cellphone. Both men are to appear in the District A Magistrates Court today.
