Two motorcycle robbers caught after police pursuit, one escaped

Georgetown: Three men on two motor cycles robbed a mini-bus driver at Beterverwagting Public Road, ECD, at about 10:30hrs today.

Police ranks responded to the report and caught up with the robbers on Sheriff Street where one of them rode away. The other two robbers on the other motorcycle crashed into a mini bus in Middleton Street after police pursuit.

While the driver of the motor cycle was arrested, the pillion rider, who was seen throwing away a bag as he ran, was chased by ranks that subsequently caught and arrested him. The bag was retrieved and searched in which was found an unlicensed .32 pistol with 12 matching rounds.

As the investigations continue, the two men are in police custody.
