Belmont: Two murders have taken this country's murder tally to 239. Dead are Jahabrem Lawrence of Trou Macaque and Terrence Richardson of Leotaud Lands, Belmont.
Police say that around 9.20 pm residents of La Resource Road, Laventille reported hearing gunshots. When they investigated the body of 19-year-old Lawrence was found lying in a drain with bullet wounds to his head.
One hour later police responded to a report of a man seen motionless in a drain at Upper Marylands Hill, Belmont..
On arrival they found the body of Richardson of Leotaud Street, Gonzales, Belmont with his throat slit. Police have no motives for both killings.
The murder toll for the same period last year stood at 305.
