Georgetown : Today Police Cadet Officer Franz Paul and Corporal Baichan Singh appeared before Magistrate F. Azore at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.
Cadet Officer Franz Paul was charged with Inflicting grievous bodily harm, discharging loaded firearm with Intent and Assault; and jointly charged with Corporal Baichan Singh with attemping to pervert the course of justice.
Cadet Officer Franz Paul was refused bail on the charges of Inflicting grievous bodily harm and discharging Loaded Firearm with Intent and remanded to prison until June 30, 2014.
He was placed on bail in the sum of $25,000.00 on the Assault charge and $150,000.00 on the charge of attempt to pervert the course of justice.
Corporal Baichan Singh was also placed on bail in the sum of $150,000.00 for court on June 30, 2014.
The charges follow from investigations into an incident that occurred on April 30, 2014, at East La Penitence, Georgetown, where Alex Griffith was shot in his mouth by a police rank
