North West District : The Police conducted a search on a house at Bamboo, North West District (NWD) yesterday, during which an unlicensed 12 gauge Mosberg shotgun with one cartridge and an unlicensed .38 special revolver with two matching rounds were found.
Convey Walcott, 38 years, of North Haslington, East Coast Demerara and Ernest Smith, 23 years, of Port Kaituma, NWD, were arrested and charged with Possession of Firearms and Possession of Ammunition without license.
They appeared before Magistrate Alan Wilson at the Matthew’s Ridge Magistrate Court today and were remanded to prison until August 13, 2013.
