Berbice : The police today continue to follow leads to solve the murders of Flory Papayyaand Jennifer Pooran both of Miss Phoebe, Port Mourant, Corentyne, whose bodies were found at yesterday in the backlands at Adventure, Corentyne, with wounds to their throats.
The police said the two victims and a man had left for the Adventure Backlands at 7:00am to cut branches to make brooms which they sell. The man later returned and claimed that he and the two women had been attacked by four men and that he had managed to escape.
He is under police guard at the New Amsterdam Hospital being treated for suspected poisoning.
