Georgetown: The Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) of the United States launched a probe into a U.S visa racket at the United States Embassy in Georgetown, Guyana.
The State Department has confirmed.“The Department of State is aware of allegations of improprieties relating to a Consular Officer formerly assigned to Georgetown, Guyana,” according to a statement issued today by the embassy.
FBI agents interviewed various persons attached to the Georgetown embassy. Reports disclose that a former Consul Officer who was based at the embassy was behind a visa racket scheme.
