Georgetown: Following the charge of conspiracy to commit kidnapping against three persons, Carl Krishna Deokaran, Vishnu Ramnarine and Suzanne Kalimootoo, the police rank who gathered the evidence was commended for good undercover work. The rank was in plain clothes and staked out the house where the plot was being hatched to kidnap son of an Essequibo sawmiller Christopher Mohabir for a ranson of $50 million. The rank's recorder gathered the evidence that was admitted in court. It was enough evidence to charge the trio for the conspiracy. Police believe that someone close to the trio may have overheard the plan and alerted the authorities.
