Union boss call for minimum wages

Bridgetown.

President of the Congress of Trade Unions and Staff Associations of Barbados(CTUSAB)  Cedric Murrell is calling on the Government to establish a new minimum wage and set out a framework for a return to reasonable wage and salary over the next two years.

Speaking to Trakker News ahead of of the Budget presentation by Minister of Finance, Chris Sinckler tomorrow evening, Murrell is calling for the reversal of the decision since January 1, this year barring people from claiming income tax allowances on saving in a credit union.

"One thing the Budget should not be is a taxation Budget. That will would negate the expansion of the economy and jeopardize growth",Murrell said.
