Union will respond to Ministry today

Bridgetown.

The Barbados Secondary's Teacher  Union (BSTU) will be making an offical response to the Ministry of Education's statement on the dispute at Alexandra School today.

Over the weekend, the Ministry of Education and  Human Resoure Development issued a statement claiming that the union was not following the Grievance Handling Procedure as set out in the Fourth Schedule of the Public Service Act, and therefore called for an end to the industrial action, " as the Ministry could not continue to negotiate under duress".

Since last Wednesday, 38 teachers of the school walked off  the job and in meetings with the BSTU aired numerous grievances against principal Jeff Broomes.
