Port-of-Spain: University professor Ken Julien this afternoon denied claims by Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar that he was a member of the board of State-owned oil company Petrotrin.
In an official statement to the media, Professor Julien says in his 40 years of public service he has never served as either chairman or a board member with the State-owned oil company, nor was he involved in any way in the gas to liquid project.
In her contrbution to the budget debate on October 14th, Prime Minister Persad-Bissessar told the Parliament that pre-protocol letters on behalf of Petrotrin have been authorised for the commencement of legal proceedings against several members of the Professor Kenneth Julien board for negligence and breach of statutory duty.
