Bridgetown.
Prime Minister of Barbados Freundel Stuart, has described the comments made by some Barbadians over the allegation by a Jamaican woman,Shanique Myrie, of an abusive search by officials at the Grantley Adams International Airport last month as unpatriotic.
Speaking during a pre-recorded televised interview last night at the state run Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation; Stuart praised the Jamaican public for the manner they held together on the Myrie issue, in the interest on their own country.
He knocked the statements by some Barbadians about the Myrie Affair as very unpatriotic, and an attempt to hold their own country to regional ridicule.
The Prime Minister said that the way is cleared for Miss Myrie to return to Barbados, and point out those who she claimed had "finger raped her".
He added that cameras would be installed in various places at the airport.
Stuart described the incident as unfortunate, but is sure that it would not irreparably harm relations between the two countries.
