“Urgent meeting” with Top Cop requested -PPP/C

Georgetown: Georgetown: General Secretary of the Peoples Progressive Party Civic (PPP/C) Bharrat Jagdeo is expected to meet with the Commissioner of Police on Monday, June 8, 2020 after an “urgent meeting” was requested to “discuss certain security concerns of public importance”.

The letter, which was sent by Anil Nandlall, stated that the Party’s General Secretary Bharrat Jagdeo will be accompanied by a team of party leaders. The letter was dispatched on Thursday.

The Top Cop, Leslie James has also been accused of releasing inaccurate immigration information to the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) to assist the APNU/AFC in its case to discredit the elections recount at the Arthur Chung Convention Center.

He had submitted to GECOM a list of 172 persons the Guyana Police Force claims were not in the country on or before March 2. However, many of those individuals have since come forward to refute the claimed made by the immigration records.

James who is also the Chief Immigration Officer submitted the list after GECOM Chairperson, Justice Claudette Singh had sent him a list of some 200 names, provided by the APNU/AFC, to verify whether those individuals were out of the jurisdiction on Elections Day as is being claimed by the Coalition.

The Coalition APNU+AFC continues to slow down the national vote recount by making wild claims that persons who were out of the country were marked off as having voted.
