East Coast Demerara – Veteran Journalist and former editor-in-chief of the Guyana Chronicle Sharief Khan passed away this morning at his Goedverwagting home, East Coast Demerara.
Khan suffered a heart attack a few years ago and was in North America seeking medical attention. According to his small brother Zir Khan who he lives with, Khan was not in best of health recently. He told TrakkerNews that Sharief had just finished having a bath when his cell phone rang, he went into his bedroom and suddenly collapsed on the ground. When he rushed to see what happened, Sharief was breathing his last breath.
Khan worked at Stabroek News as news editor before he took up the Editor in Chief post at the Guyana Chronicle in 1993. He also served as a senior consultant to the climate change unit before his death.
