Georgetown: Veteran radio and television broadcaster, Roger Moore died early Friday morning in the United Kingdom after a prolonged illness. He was suffering from diabetes and several related complications including kidney failure.
Moore was best known for his Come Home to Roger and At Home with Roger tv programmes which were aired on HBTV channel 9 before he migrated to the United Kingdom. Before that, he was a Broadcaster with the Guyana Broadcasting Corporation where he hosted a number of programmes. Outside of his broadcasting career, Roger Moore also took on the job of social activist and used his tv shows to raise consciousness and address many of the ills in the Guyanese society.
