WAC brings cheer to vulnerable children.

Georgetown – In observing the 44thAnniversary of the Women’s Army, children of the Ruimveldt Children’s Home and Care Center were greeted and received cheers from the organisation. The visit was in keeping with the GDF’s policy of building and sustaining positive relationships with the wider society.

During the outreach, the soldiers took the opportunity to not only deliver goodies, but, more importantly, to educate the children about the GDF. Additionally, they played games with the children, which helped to create a positive environment and build camaraderie. Lieutenant Dawn Robertson, who led the delegation, indicated that they were happy to visit and interact with the children, and promised to return in the future.

RCHCC Administrative Officer, Ms. Jennifer Babb, expressed thanks to the Women’s Army Corps and the GDF for the timely and necessary intervention. She urged the GDF to visit again and as often as possible.

The Home, which is situated at Freemen Street, East La Penitence, cares for 20 orphaned and vulnerable children aged two to thirteen years of age.
