Berbice : About 1pm yesterday, acting on information received, police ranks went to a house at Nicolay Street, New Amsterdam, where Delroy Joseph called “Barney”, 26 years, of Angoy’s Avenue, New Amsterdam, was seen.
Delroy Joseph was wanted by the police for questioning into several reports of robbery under arms and break and enter and larceny.
During efforts to arrest Delroy Joseph he attacked the police with a knife causing the police to resort to use of force and he was shot to his left thigh.
Delroy Joseph has been admitted to the New Amsterdam Hospital where he is under police guard.
