Region Nine: Lethem residents are still struggling to cope with a severe flood that hit over the weekend with the bulging Takatu River overflowing. Report out of the region is that the water has dropped but not significantly, worrying alot of residents and drainage and irrigations official who have been on the ground since Saturday evening. What puzzled many people is that the weather was fair yet the water suddenly rose to about 4 to 5 feet in some areas, Forcing the authorities to cut power and water supply. Almost 50 families were relocated to higher grounds as the damage is estimated to be quite significant. The situation is being closely monitored as aid has been flown in to help those displaced by the massive flooding.
