West Coast Residents recall a horrific Easter Night- several persons injured and shot by the police.

West Coast Demerara : Ramnarine Jagrup is now home resting after having two bullets removed from his thigh and another resident of Windsor Forest on the West Coast of Demerara received several stitches to his head.

The two injured men told TrakkerNews they are still in a state of shock after how police officers behaved last Monday, Easter night where several ranks swooped down on a rum shop and other make shift bars along the West Coast Demerara seawall where hundreds of persons gathered to fly their kites and have a fun day.

The nightmare according to 29 year old Jagrup started when the police from their division along with the commander in charge, Balram Persaud ordered for music to stop play after 7pm. The man said the police started to lash some people with big guns while other officers including the commander, fired several shots hitting a few people. Jagrup said he feels lucky since he is still alive after being shot twice, but one of his friends is still in the intensive care unit at a private city hospital fighting for his life, he was also shot.

A  resident of La Jealousy, W.C.Dem  said he was discharged last evening after receiving several stitches to his head which burst away from a lash of a gun but.

TrakkerNews also understands that more than 30 people were arrested monday night and are still in police custody.

While Trakkernews was speaking to the affected residents, several made allegations that the police and the commander were under the influence of alcohol when the scene broke out that night.

The police complain authority has launched an investigation.
