It was a wet Kadooment for thousand of revellers as this year's Crop Over festival came to an end yesterday.
The weathermen and the Barbados Meleorological Services had predicted upper level troughs, partly cloudy to cloudy skies and isolated thunderstorms.
They were not all wrong, the showers were intermittent, the occasional drenching were wecome by the thousands of masqueraders from the 23 bands, who wined their waistlines from the ABC Highway to the Springgarden Highway between 9a.m and 6p.m.
Designer Renee Ratcliffe captured the top prize of Large Band of the year, beating multiple winners Gwyneth Squires and Betty West into second and third place respectively. She copped the $9000 first prize.
Squires, won the titles of Festival Designer of the Year and the Best Band of the Road in her 26th year of participating in the Crop Over Festival.
Several personalities were among the revellers including former captain of the West Indies team Brian Lara.
