Dominica: Whitney Houston’s death was caused by accidental drowning, cocaine ingestion and heart disease, according to a preliminary report issued yesterday by the Los Angeles County coroner’s office, the Dominica News Online reported.
Marijuana, anti-anxiety drug Xanax, muscle relaxant Flexeril and over-the-counter allergy medication Benadryl were also found in the singer’s blood, but those substances did not contribute to her death, the report states. No trauma or foul play is suspected, and a final report is expected within two weeks, the DNO report said.
Houston died Feb. 11 at the Beverly Hilton, where she was discovered unresponsive and submerged in a bathtub. Beverly Hills paramedics performed CPR for about 20 minutes before declaring her dead at 3:55 p.m. PT.
