Will GECOM be ready for an August 2011 election-chief accountant sent in three months leave.

Georgetown – The Chief accountant within the Guyana Election Commission (GECOM) has been sent on three months leave just as the organization is ready in their final stages of the continuous registration process.

TrakkerNews was told by the accountant and preferred to be anonymous, he has been attached to GECOM over the past five years and worked closely under the chief election officer Gocool Boodoo.

He claims that he attended meetings with Boodoo at Office of the President and would address issues with the Head of the Presidential Secretariat Dr. Roger Luncheon.

He said he was sent on leave with pay all of a sudden when he disagreed with certain issues by his immediate boss.

The accountant pointed out that chief accountants before him were dismissed when found in illegal activities and this was not the case with him. He claims to be the longest serving chief accountant for GECOM.

The accountant said a fresh man in that post now can see some problems with GECOM and subsequent to a smooth election for the suggested time, August 2011.

He hinted some discrepancies at GECOM, but will revealed this information later since his leave money has been held up after sighting to write the commission on the issues caused him to be away from his office, this can exposed some big ones at GECOM.

The accountant is the second signatory along with Boodoo on cheques issued by GECOM for payments.
