The main witness at a Coroner's Inquest into the death of a man shot by the police admitted yesterday that he lied in his written statement to lawmen.
Carmi Williams, 21, the best friend of Jamar Maynard who was shot by police officers two years ago, told Coroner Manila Renee that he had lied in his written statement to the police.
Williams told the Inquest that the statement he give to the police denying that he knew Maynard was wrong. The youth said the statement he give attorney at law Comissiong who is representing the Maynard family at the Inquest was correct.
Williams was walking along Literary Row, The City with Maynard on April 4, 2012, when they were involved in a confrontation with the police. Maynard, who was 27 years old, died after being shot by police.
Latter that day Williams in a written statement to the police denied that he knew Maynard.
