Brenda Bell, 64, of St Barnabas, the Pine, St Michael was chopped to death by a man with a cutlass at Cutting Road in the same parish, this morning.
According to reports, Bell was in a house with another person when the man broke down the door forcing them to ran on to the road.
He caught up with Bell while she was running and cut her several times with a cutlass. She died on the spot.
The man then drank a toxic substance and is currently under police's custody at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
