Georgetown : The police today launched an investigation into the death of Alison Bowen of Goedverwagting, East Coast Demerara, which occurred last night.
Alison Bowen was walking along the roadway in the company of her two sons and Nicola King of Goedverwagting when a suspect rode up on a bicycle and attacked Alison Bowen with a knife. She was stabbed to her chest and left hand.
Nicola King and one of the sons named James Parton, 17 years, went to her assistance and Nicola King was stabbed to her abdomen and right hand while James Parton was cut to his right hand. The suspect escaped on the bicycle and has not yet been arrested.
The injured persons were taken to the Georgetown Hospital where the 42 year old Bowen was pronounced dead and Nicola King admitted a patient while James Parton was treated and sent away.
