Berbice: Four persons, two men and two women are in police custody following a robbery that took place at Timmers Dam, Angoy’s Avenue, New Amsterdam, Berbice.
It is alleged that the group, one of whom was armed with a gun, robbed Nankishore Arjune of his AT 192 motorcar, jewellery, a cell phone and $15,000 men.
At the time of the robbery, Arjune was operating his motorcar for hire when the suspects and two women stopped him and requested that they be taken to Timmers Dam.
Upon arriving at that location, the women exited, leaving the men who proceeded to rob the driver.
Arjune’s car was found later at Angoy’s Avenue. Investigations are continuing.
