Bridgetown

Girls_Problem03-450x350Three young women who went to the media  earlier this week to highlight  what they've called several issues at a shelter for battered women have been removed from the facility.

The women who met with members of  the media yesterday, said officials at the home informed that they  were in breach of the shelter’s confidentiality agreement and had until 6 p.m. that day  to leave.

She said  that among  their concerns was the removal of a child because her mother scolded and spanked her.

The young lady said the group's call to the media was not intended to put the shelter in jeopardy.

She stressed that they never revealed its location and before this they have always abided by the rules.

“They are saying we breached the rules, but we did not give our names or the name or location of the shelter. It’s because we went  to the papers,” the woman  said.
