Women gender equality commission got technology boost from British Government.

This Morning the Women Gender Equality Commission ( WGEC) received a few computers and a large printer from the British High Comissioner Mr Bond.

High commissioner Bond says, the commission is an ambitious human rights focus and his Government is pleased to provide this assistance. He pointed out that in Guyana a lot of attention are being paid to violence against women, but there are a wide range of other issues that need to be addressed, social and economic issues that can lead to discrimination. He said Guyana has a good representation of women which is visible in Parliament.

Receiving on behalf of the WGEC is chairperson, former Human Services Minister Indra Chandrapaul thanked the British Government for the donation, which she says will facilitate the work of the commission and the capacity building for their commissioners.
