Akyem Tafari Wharton, 21, of Sober Lane, Bridgetown was yeterday formally charged with the murder of Simon Reuben Cherubin 38, of 8th Avenue, New Orleans, St Michael, who died at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on January 27, as a result of cutlass wounds sustained on January 1.
Wharton was also charged in District A Magistrates Court with causing serious bodily harm to Jason Wharton, of Second Avenue, Parris Gap, Westbury Road, St Michael.
He was remanded to HMP Dodds until January 4 by Magistrate Douglas Frederick.
